PITTSBURGH RECAST: Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators' 10th Anniversary Exhibit
documents the stories in and of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This American city is steeped in history and is forging ahead, poised to redefine and reinvent itself. The exhibit as a whole is a combined effort of multiple perceptions and is intended to weave Pittsburgh's tapestry of transition over time. It will imagine a future Pittsburgh. It will consider the legacy of individual and institutional contributions as well as the intervening detours, shifting plateaus, and overturned hierarchies that have inaugurated change.  Read more at our Pittsburgh RECAST web site: http://www.pittsburghrecast.com/.

Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators Presents:
SPEAKING OF ILLUSTRATION

The PSI Speaker Series began on Saturday, May 10 with illustrator Jacob Thomas (represented in the stunning portrait at right). This series will feature nationally and internationally known illustrators with ties to Pittsburgh.

The series is titled "SPEAKING OF ILLUSTRATION" and we plan to host four presentations a year. The artist talks will be followed by an after party designed to promote connectivity and engagement with the speaker and in turn, the national illustration community.

The first lecture was very well received. Keep an eye out for the dates of future talks.
