PSI GROUP SHOW: "Artistry. Intelligence." Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators React to the Use of AI in Art

The first PSI group show since our 2019 show at the Stifel Museum in Wheeling is set for the North Hills Arts Center (3432 Babcock Blvd, PGH PA 15237) for March 16 to April 5, 2024. The reception set for Saturday evening March 16 from 6 to 9pm featuring food, beverages, and music is open to all PSI members, NHAC guests, member guests, patrons, clients, writers, creatives, and the general public! The theme for the show is Artists and AI. The show title has been a jumping off point for whatever direction our member illustrators feel like presenting concerning this important issue.  This show, to be heavily promoted, truly benefits all members of PSI. There are 31 members and over 50 pieces in the exhibition...a mini-show catalog is completed and an upcoming online version of the show is being planned right now.

ALL PSI MEMBERS: NEXT SOCIAL AT J GOUGHS TUESDAY MARCH 12, 2024. IN GREENFIELD RIGHT OFF THE PARKWAY EAST 4213 MURRAY AVE 15217. 6:30PM

Winter/Spring Socials

Regular socials have resumed on second Tuesdays: Feb 13, Mar 12, April 9 and May 14 2024 at J. Gough's 6:30pm.

Please come on out to J. Gough's Tavern in Squirrel Hill, 4213 Murray Avenue, PGH PA 15217, continuing our second Tuesday socials on Tuesday January 9, 2023 through May 14, 2024, and share your current work, have a drink, enjoy some PSI complimentary snacks from the delicious J. Gough's menu, or just hang out and visit with other members. Give us some of your thoughts on what programs PSI should plan. Bring a friend if you don't want to come out alone. We'd love to see everyone. Members usually start arriving around 6:30 PM. Plenty of on-street parking or you can use the Giant Eagle lot across the street.

Meetings

Social Meetings have been held almost every month since our founding in late 1996.
Think Happy Hour! Since 1996, PSI has hosted socials to relieve freelance isolation and expose everyone to the work of other members. Join us for informal shop talk along with great food and drink at different centrally located restaurants or at member home/studios. Appetizers supplied by PSI. All members and prospective members welcome!
The “Business of Illustration” Meetings
These programs cycle through member's home/studios and various public spots (like the Hub in West View) around Pittsburgh. The night typically includes a presentation by a member or outside speaker and networking. Attendees should bring a beverage and/or a snack to share. Locations and featured artists are posted on the PSI website and distributed via Basecamp announcements. One annual event to circle is the “PSI Goes to the Chapel” program event at The Chapel pavilion in Riverview Park on a Saturday in September TBA. Think major conference or retreat all packed into one day! Speakers, catered picnic, social time, etc.
