The goal of the PSI Mentorship program was to provide support and insight to PSI members who were committed to developing their career in any given genre of the contemporary illustration field or those desiring to change, expand or enhance their established career.
The current PSI Mentorship leadership has decided that PSI Full and Affiliate members should take advantage of the “To the Point!” critique series. The instructors in this series include established PSI lifetime members who are all professional full time illustrators and who have developed their own distinctive voice and successful practice. PSI advisors have extensive experience in their specific fields, which include Advertising, Animation, Corporate, Children's Books, Comics, Editorial, Greeting Cards, Information Graphics and Publishing. Each advisor has 20+ years of professional experience.
The “To the Point!” program is available year round on an appointment basis, or is scheduled once or twice a year to groups of members, and is open to all Full and Affiliate PSI members who feel they would benefit from an in depth, highly focused assessment of their current work and career by a diverse group of illustration professionals
Each session will include a professional advisor who will meet with the illustrators desiring the crits for up to three hours evaluating work. Sessions are held at the advisor studios. The tone of these gatherings is relaxed and casual but we ask that artists come highly prepared to present a complete body of work and to articulate their professional goals as well as the current status of their illustration career. A discussion of the artist's portfolio, career history, setbacks, successes and aspirations will follow. At the conclusion of each session, the illustrator being critiqued will have a take away set of advice to act upon to grow and market their work successfully, expanding their individual career goals.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this unique and valuable resource which PSI presents at no charge, please contact: John Blumen (412-381-1030 or john@johnblumenillustration.com) to schedule a meeting.
