Affiliate Members February 2024

 

The PSI Affiliate Membership was created in 2008 to allow all illustrators to be a part of the PSI organization. Some Affiliate members are designers by trade and include illustration as part of their skill set, or they are advanced students ready to enter the market, or they are practicing artists moving into the illustration world. Affiliate membership also recognizes the support of illustration by industry professionals who are not illustrators. 

Affiliate members learn from our professional illustrators. Affiliates participate in PSI critiques, networking opportunities, and a variety of programs offered by the Society. This membership level promotes a relationship with the Society that is meant to support developing illustrators in aesthetic and professional growth over time as they progress toward full membership. Affiliates are entitled to all the benefits of PSI membership except for appearing in the portfolio pages, and entering PSI exhibitions.

 

Current Affiliates pursuing Full membership in PSI are invited to submit five new illustration samples in jpg format including a brief statement about yourself via email to Kathy Rooney, Review Board Coordinator (email: me@krooney.net). Reviews of new work (termed 'Upgrading')  by Affiliates can take place once an Affiliate member has belonged to PSI for 12 months. If upgrade by review is successful, the Affiliate member becomes a Full member and can then post a mini-portfolio on the PSI website, enter exhibitions, and vote in elections.
