CONFIRMED FOR TUESDAY OCTOBER 21, 2025: 7pm in the evening: JOE MRUK/RED BUFFALO ILLUSTRATION home/studio tour and outdoor cookout afterwards. 401 South Trenton Apt 1 PGH PA 15221. PSI's Laura Garvin has been organizing this studio visit with SCBWI regional rep and distinguished illustrator Joe Mruk. An informative and fun-filled evening planned! CONFIRMED FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 2: 2pm in the afternoon; Scott Mason, one of the world's leading Fashion and Event Illustrator hailing from London, UK is booked for a Zoom presentation to PSI. Tara Zalewski is hosting a PSI group meet-up/potluck at her home studio 1304 Corkwood Dr Monroeville PA 15146 OR you can watch this on Zoom at your own studio/home. Scott will be lecturing to PSI on his art and Live Illustration work in an hour long Zoom with lecture/demo for 30 - 45 min and Q&A at the end. Members who cannot attend Tara's pot luck can join in on Zoom. VP Wintis Gibson will circulate the Zoom meeting information close to the event.

Fall socials have resumed second Tuesdays at J Gough's at 6:30pm.
PSI is back to J Gough's for 10/14, 11/11.
J Gough's Tavern in Squirrel Hill, is located at 4213 Murray Avenue PGH PA 15217.
Share your current work, have a drink, enjoy some PSI complimentary snacks from the delicious J. Gough's menu, or just hang out and visit with other members. Hear more about the MY AMERICA: An Illustrated Experience show opening October 11, 2025 through September 8, 2026. Bring IDEAS for future programs-this is your society! Bring a friend if you don't want to come out alone. We'd love to see everyone. Members usually start arriving around 6:30 PM. Plenty of on-street parking or you can use the Giant Eagle lot across the street.

Think Happy Hour! Since 1996, PSI has hosted socials to relieve freelance isolation and expose everyone to the work of other members. Join us for informal shop talk along with great food and drink at different centrally located restaurants or at member home/studios. Appetizers supplied by PSI. All members and prospective members welcome!

The “Business of Illustration” Meetings
These programs cycle through member's home/studios and various public spots (like the Hub Works in West View) around Pittsburgh. The night typically includes a presentation by a member or outside speaker and networking. Attendees should bring a beverage and/or a snack to share. Locations and featured artists are posted on the PSI website and distributed via Basecamp announcements.

PSI currently has two programs on the calendar:

Sunday November 2, 2025 SCOTT MASON LIVE EVENT ILLUSTRATION PRESENTATION. 2pm via zoom or meetup at Tara Zalewski's home studio 1304 Corkwood Dr Monroeville PA 15146 for a pot luck. Scott will be presenting from the UK thus the early start on our end.
PSI recently presented the nationally syndicated 'Bizarro' creator/cartoonist WAYNO at Kim Fox Studio on May 29. Then PSI presented nationally recognized book illustrator Rebecca Green at Hub Works in West View on June 17.
These presentations are open and free to ALL FULL AND AFFILIATE members as a benefit of dues. We welcome the interested public, prospective members, clients, patrons, and trade partners.
